BBC3 – Bollywood Carmen

Bollywood Dancers Bradford participate in an unforgettable evening of dance, music, singing, passion, fashion, acting, gripping drama, colour and exciting celebrity stars held the attention of thousands, in Bradford City Park, whereBollywood Carmen was broadcast live on BBC3, in 2013.

This outdoor musical extravaganza featured a list Bollywood star Abhay Deol, EastEnders Preeya Kalidas, Meera Syal,Strictly’s Chelsee Healey and Emmerdale’s Stephen Rahman-Hughes, just to name a few! Star studded to say the least!

Bradford City Centre was converted into a large stage for Bollywood Carmen Live, which was a spin on Bizet’s classic opera.

Introducing the elaborate entertainment for the live audience, and television audience, was renowned British Asian band RDB, famous for their blending of conventional Punjabi Bhangra beats and Western genres. Accompanying RDBon the main stage, along with another three local Bollywood dancers Bradford, was Ria Meera Munshi, Director of Ri Ri’s Dance Academy, who was one of the lead dancers, during the opening of Bollywood Carmen.

During the dance Rehearsals for the Production, Ria was asked to show and teach certain sections of the dance elements to the other dancers and celebrities such as Sofia Hayat. This was requested by choreographer of the show, Honey Kalaria, Director of Honey’s Dance Academy, based in London.

Ahead of the spectacular broadcast, a fashion shoot was held for the Yorkshire Post magazine. Ria was a model for this shoot along with a female and male dancer from Bollywood Carmen and featured in the June 2013 edition of Yorkshire Post.
