Bollywood at the NHS
2018 and 2019 were the years in which multi-award-winning Manchester based Bollywood company, Ri Ri’s Dance Academy, worked heavily with the NHS, providing exquisite world-class entertainment along with Indian dance workshops from our Guinness world record breaking director, Ria Meera Munshi.
Lancashire Teaching Hospitals Foundation Trust
In June 2018, Ri Ri’s Dance Academy, were part of Lancashire Teaching Hospital Foundation Trust’s first ever valuing diversity conference which was held at Preston Hospital. The purpose of this event was for the NHS to find out how to make equality and inclusion work for both professionals and patients.
Bollywood bang!
Ri Ri’s Dance Academy were honoured to initiate the event with a big Bollywood bang! Performing a high energy, intense, Bollywood routine was director Ria Meera Munshi. To ensure team work, fitness and dancing from a different culture, Ria taught a mini Bollywood dance workshop to willing volunteers, keeping the learning element extremely inclusive and fun!

Trust Community Open Day
The Academy were then booked again by the NHS, in September 2018 and 2019,to be part of the Trust Community Open Day which was held at Tameside Hospital.
This annual community event not only had live entertainment from the main act, Ri Ri’s Dance Academy, But also Hattersley Juniors Brass Band, Polonez Manchester Polish Folk Ensemble, Tameside Music Service, as well as free smoothies, free fairground rides, free face painting and over 30 exhibitors on healthy eating and healthy living!
Bollywood Dance Workshop, Tameside
It was really lovely to see a number of participants, including Mr Motivator in our 2019 workshop, of all backgrounds and ages, trying the basic Bollywood dance workshop, ran by Ria Meera Munshi. Laughter and giggles filled the marquee as dance students moved to the speedy Bollywood beat!
