DiwaliFest 2020

In November 2020, during the second national lockdown, our Artistic Director, Ria Meera Munshi and her Manchester based Bollywood dance school, Ri Ri’s Dance Academy, were part of an online event called DiwaliFest 2020, part of iGlobal (The voice of global Indians.) DiwaliFest 2020 was a show like no other – bringing together 100,000 participants throughout the UK for a riveting three day programme of festivities, topical discussion and arts & cultural performances. Highlighting only the best of the best artists within the UK!

Manchester International Festival

In April 2020, at the beginning of the first COVID-19 lockdown Ri Ri’s Dance Academy were commissioned by Manchester International Festival, also known as MIF, for a “Get Creative” initiative.

This brilliant opportunity was to create and deliver an activity that safely engages artists communities and wider society during the crisis, resulting in a public sharing.

The Rotary Club

On the 8th October 2019, Manchester based Bollywood Guinness World Record Breaking business, Ri Ri’s Dance Academy, travelled to Cleckheaton, Dewsbury, as they were invited by the President Mrs Donna Blakeway, to perform for the 80th anniversary of Mirfield Rotary Club – And what a lovely achievement for the Academy to be part off!

The 80th celebrations were held at the stunning banqueting suite at Aakash Restaurant and team Ri Ri performed two fusion Bollywood performances...

Lancaster University

In October 2019, our director Ria Meera Munshi, was invited to provide traditional Bollywood entertainment for the annual Diwali celebration lunch at the Lancaster Environment Centre, for the Ecology, Hydrology and Environmental Science staff team.

This was the 6th year of running this incredible event and was the best and biggest event so far! As well as Ri Ri’s Dance Academy providing the entertainment.

Oman Air

In June 2019, Oman Air in partnership with Manchester Airport, held a prestigious event at the Museum of Science and Industry. This stunning event was to celebrate two years of Oman Air flying from Manchester to Muskat and had sponsors such as TAJ and LUX Resorts & Hotels.

The evening itself consisted of food, drinks, lots of prizes to be won and, of course, entertainment from Manchester based multi-award-winning and Bollywood Guinness World Record Breaking Ri Ri’s Dance Academy.

Maggie's

In June 2019, Ri Ri’s Dance Academy, were invited (yet again!) to provide mind-blowing entertainment for Maggie’s Manchester. Following their first performance in 2015, the Academy amazed audiences for Maggie’s huge corporate Bollywood Event.

The incredible Charity Event, “What A Load Of Bolly!” was held at the award winning centre Maggie’s Manchester. The evening began with a Champagne reception, followed by our Academy in the limelight concluding with some yummy local Asian cuisine.

Manchester Culture Awards

In November 2018, at the prestigious Etihad Stadium, Bollywood Guinness World Record breaking company, Ri Ri’s Dance Academy, were invited perform for the Manchester Culture Awards, organized by Manchester City Council.

Celebrating the City’s creative activity, ranging from visual art to film and broadcast media, this phenomenal awards ceremony celebrated the best of Manchester – And what an incredible honour for Ri Ri’s Dance Academy to entertain the guests on this spectacular evening!

Bollywood at the NHS

2018 was the year in which multi-award-winning Manchester based Bollywood company, Ri Ri’s Dance Academy, worked heavily with the NHS, providing exquisite world-class entertainment along with Indian dance workshops from our Guinness world record breaking director, Ria Meera Munshi

In June 2018, Ri Ri’s Dance Academy, were part of Lancashire Teaching Hospital Foundation Trust’s first ever valuing diversity conference which was held at Preston Hospital.

One Culture Night

In October 2018 and 2019, at the Audacious Church in Salford, Greater Manchester

TheGPLUS hosted a stunning evening called One Culture Night, in which Manchester based Bollywood dance company, Ri Ri’s Dance Academy were invited to perform and run a Bollywood dance workshop with the guests.

Ria Meera Munshi, Director of the Academy, was leading the fusion Bollywood performance as well as the Indian dance workshop.

Mayor’s Civic & Charity Ball

The leading Manchester Bollywood Company, Ri Ri’s Dance Academy, were booked to dazzle the audience with their unique fusion performance at this beautiful corporate event, held at Queen Elizabeth Hall, in Oldham.

After Ri Ri’s national television dancers had completed their incredible dance set, Ria (Director of the Academy) called upon a selection of guests from the audience to join her on stage for an exciting simple Bollywood dance workshop.

Dandiya Dance Workshop along with Speed Networking

Dressed for the occasion and celebration of Navratri in a dazzling, vibrant, authentic, green, chaniya choli (an outfit inspired by Gujarati culture), complemented with stunning Indian jewellery, Ria then ran a tailor-made interactive Dandiya (stick) dance workshop.

This engaging private dance class, additionally, incorporated Speed Networkingamongst the colleagues, making the session truly unique!

Talk Talk

In 2013 as well as 2016, the Talk Talk offices in Irlam, Manchester, invited Ri Ri’s Dance Academy to entertain their employees for their Diwali party.

Bollywood Dancers Bolton

A student led Diversity Day Event was celebrated in February 2017 at The University of Bolton.

Bollywood Dancers Bolton, from International Ri Ri’s Dance Academy were booked to entertain the students and staff with their fusion Bollywood Dance performance.

This super energetic set consisted of traditional Bollywood Dancing with a cheeky Break Dancing surprise too!

Bolton Students Union organised a wellbeing week of activities and events in order to aid those students stressed, during the exam period.

It was such a pleasure for Ri Ri’s Dance Academy to be associated with this thoughtful gesture, from The University of Bolton and an honour for Ri Ri’s to showcase a taste of Bollywood dancing in Bolton, yet again!

Excel Fostering

Established in 2009, Excel Fostering operates around the North West, Cumbria, Yorkshire, West Midlands and South West of England.

The aim of this small independent Fostering Agency is to provide secure, safe and loving homes for children in addition to the top training and support services to their Foster Carers.

The Mall Blackburn

The summer of 2016 saw The Mall Blackburn hosting a celebration day for the Festival of Eid. With it being the longest Ramadan in thirty three years, The Mall Blackburn wanted to mark the occasion. They did so by booking the best Bollywood Dancers in town!

Events ran all day in Victoria Court, with entertainment from Ri Ri’s Dance Academy being the highlight.

The shopping Mall came alive when the Academy began performing, instantly gathering a crowd all around them!

Tameside MBC

Three dancers from Ri Ri’s performed a number of fusion Bollywood dance routines, creating an element of surprise for the audience with the twist of diverse dance styles.

Break dancing, Contemporary, Salsa, and Jazz were just some of the styles assimilated into the performances, alongside the traditional Bollywood dancing. Although the styles were true to their form, they were all performed to hit Bollywood songs!

Chamber of Commerce

Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce (GMCC)

Bollywood Dance Workshop – Based in the heart of Manchester City Centre, GMCC invited Celebrity dance choreographer, Ria Meera Munshi, to teach consecutive twenty minute basic Bollywood dance workshops, in a two hour block.

Inclusive Networks Awards

The Inclusive Network Awards, held at the Band On The Wall venue, in Manchester, was the first Awards Ceremony dedicated to its Network groups. In 2015, The Inclusive Network Awards, identified and acclaimed the Network groups, from all sectors and diversity strands, who had made a positive impact. To kick off this evening of celebration, Ri Ri’s Dance Academy, provided fusion Bollywood Dancers who shared the stage, that evening, with many other Artists such as Singer, Maria Kelly and Steel Drum Band highlighting the sounds of the Caribbean.

Cloverleaf Advocacy

Cloverleaf Advocacy booked incredible world class entertainment from the Academy, which included one male and one female Dancer.

Our Manchester Bollywood Dancers, who travelled to Dewsbury, simply enthralled the audience with their high energy, intricate choreography and flexibility.

This was further enhanced by the eye catching, sparkling dance costumes.

MTSG Bollywood Ball

Each year the Manchester Trainee Solicitors Group (MTSG) host a Summer Ball.

In July 2015, Express employees attended the Bollywood themed Summer Ball, which was held at the beautiful Compass Room, in the Lowry Theatre. This amazing venue overlooks the stunning Salford Quays, in the heart of Media City.

The MTSG team booked, Manchester based, multi-award winning Ri Ri’s Dance Academy to provide Indian dance entertainment for the evening.

Seashell Trust

Seashell Trust – Arabian Nights Summer Ball

The Seashell Trust, based in Cheadle Hulme, held an evening of fundraising and entertainment, in 2015, with the theme being an Arabian Nights Summer Ball.

Guests were greeted by a glamorous Belly dancer from Ri Ri’s Dance Academy, who was beautifully dressed in a gilt costume adorned with pretty jewels.

Together Trust

Stockport based Charity, Together Trust, booked international company Ri Ri’s Dance Academy to run an exclusive Bollywood Dance Workshop. This was in aid of a fun wellbeing day, for all of the staff members, at the Trust. RiRi’s Bollywood dance workshop, to the Pussycat Dolls smash hit ‘Jai Ho’, was a collective hour of fun, fitness and Indian culture! The Bollywood dance workshop was the perfect activity to bring the staff team together, interact with one another and improve each individuals dance abilities and skills set.

Future Leaders Awards

Future Leaders Awards Ceremony (2014 & 2015), organised by Hyde Bangladesh Welfare Association (HBWA), was an Event brought together to celebrate the young achievers in Hyde, Tameside.

The Future Leaders Awards Ceremony was anchored by, Director of Ri Ri’s Dance Academy, Ria Meera Munshi, who was, also, invited to perform a guest Bollywood Dance routine, for the children, their parents and teachers.

Aspire Arts Foundation

Ri Ri’s Charity arm, Aspire Arts Foundation, received funding from Forever Manchester to aid the Communities of Tameside and Stockport through the arts. Dance entertainment, such as Street Dance, was provided at Care Homes.

In addition to this, creative work such as Arts & Crafts, were arranged in Special Needs Schools, around the Greater Manchester area. All the Projects were, of course, extremely rewarding for those facilitating.

Salford University

With such diverse and incredible achievements, throughout the Alumni community of The University of Salford, the annual Salford Winter Celebration Alumni Achievement Awards, held each year at Christmas time, recognises those high and outstanding accomplishments. The Fusion Dance Group from Ri Ri’s Dance Academy were called upon to provide premier entertainment for this prestigious Event. They shared the stage alongside a number of other successful Alumni, like Ria Meera Munshi, such as professional Comedian and Magician Barrington Powell.

Off the Catwalk

The Crowne Plaza in Glasgow hosted an Off The Catwalk Event, in 2014, organised by Saffron Events UK. The theme for this Event was Ladies Night and the spectacular evening itself included a Catwalk, a five course banquet and, of course, Bollywood Dancers Scotland from International Company, Ri Ri’s Dance Academy.

Ri Ri’s Bollywood Dancers Scotland were lucky enough to share the stage alongside some incredible talent within the Asian Community, including Hussnain, Trav, Amit Sumal and Sikandar.

Rethink Fashion Show

The Museum of Science and Industry (MOSI), located in Manchester, celebrates the cities achievements in the fields of science, technology and industry.

This beautiful Museum is one of Manchester’s historic and most popular attractions. MOSI was where the Rethink Fashion Show, by Recycle for Greater Manchester, was presented, in 2014.

English Asian Business Awards

The third annual English Asian Business Awards were held at the Manchester Mercure Hotel, in 2014.

This prestigious event celebrated the huge success and achievements of a number of moving Asian entrepreneurs, who had been selected through the United Kingdom.

The University of Manchester

Manchester Bollywood Dance Workshop – A number of Indian/Bollywood Dance Workshops were delivered at The University of Manchester, by Guinness World Record Breaking Choreographer, Ria Meera Munshi.

During the summer the staff of Manchester University gathered together to have a day of team building where they could experience a number of fresh activities – Bollywood Dance being one of them!
