Awards Guinness World Records The Manchester crowd of 1,406 non dancers were given a Bollywood dance master class by Ria, who taught the routine live with four of Ri Ri’s talented male and female dancers, also, on stage. The choreography was specially created to be simple and fun allowing participants of all ages, from all walks of life, to partake in this incredible moment of history. Young Entrepreneur On the 7th February 2013, Director of Ri Ri’s Dance Academy, Ria Meera Munshi, at the youthful age of twenty three, was awarded the Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award. This was at the prestigious E3 Business Awards, held at the stunning Reebok (Macron) Stadium, in Bolton. With twelve categories and forty eight finalists, competition was high! But, Ria’s Guinness World Record Breakingachievement, amongst many others, resulted in Ri Ri’s Dance Academy’s first Business Award. Proficiency Award In October 2014, Ria Meera Munshi, Director of Ri Ri’s Dance Academy was surprised with a “Proficiency Award in Dance & Leadership”, from the Shree Lohana Mahjan community group, in Ashton, Manchester. At their annual Diwali dinner function, in Tameside in 2014, Ria performed an exciting yet traditional Bollywood and Bharatantayam dance piece which focused upon many celebratory Navratri and Diwali songs. Pride in Hyde 19 nominees received “Pride in Hyde” awards in June 2019, having being nominated by local people. The Pride In Hyde Awards (running for the 3rd year) celebrate individuals or groups who make a difference to life in the greater Hyde and Tameside area. The presentation was a public event held at POP, that was free for all to attend. Alumni Achievement Awards The Alumni Achievement Awards from The University of Salford are highly prestigious. They are presented to former students who have achieved distinction in their profession, who have provided exemplary service to the University or the wider community, as well as those who have achieved greatness in the arts, charities or business sectors.
